Now, I feel that if I didn't have a posting regarding the Bump-Its today that I might be brutally maimed...and while that sounds like a TON of fun - I'm just not in the mood...besides, I'm far too cute for that! So...without further ado...the fabulousness that IS Bump-Its...
Let me tell you how excited I was when I ripped open the pretty Christmas wrapping paper and it revealed...
SCHWEET!!!!!! My very own link to those from the Dirty Jerz...I was so excited I damn near pee'd myself! I honestly think this was more of a gag gift - since it is a running joke between the man and my in-laws - than anything...but I kinda like the way my hair "goes from flat to fab"!!!!
I'm not sure why mine didn't come with a second little bumpit, but it didn't...sniff, sniff...tear...and to give you a little bit on an idea as to how big these things are - I offer the following pictures (I have a Verizon LG phone - as a reference)...
The first picture kind of looks like a sumo wrestler...LOL! I digress...This wonderful little package also comes with a brochure containing helpful hints, step-by-stop (anyone else singing the theme song to that show?! you're welcome!) instructions and style guide. So...I went into the bathroom and laid out my tools (PS - I want to hear nothing...NOTHING...about the wall paper)...
So, I got a chunk of hair...did some magic with that little comb...and tried out the little bumpit...it leaves something to be desired, but I think that is because my hair is so long - or I'm doing something wrong.
I'm not a fan...so I took the wee-one out and moved up the scale to the large bumpit. Again, I took a chunk of hair...tried to work some magic with the comb...did a little spritz of Aussie (which smells FAB by-the-by)...and came up with this...
...and one from the side...
This one is DEFINITELY my favorite out of the three...okay, so I take the plastic thing out and grab the smae chunk of hair...do a little dance...spray a little spray...and off we go with the Hollywood sized one...
...and one from the side...
We'll just say that my hair was not meant for Hollywood...sniffle, sniffle...tear*, tear*....
The pictures really don't do these contraptions justice. What I really would love to do is go to a professional - who has used them before - to show me how to work them. I mean, I am a visual learner and all...but following directions written on paper while trying to do my hair at the same time...you gotta be kidding me!!
That said, reading the helpful hints would have been helpful as I tried to tug the damn things out of my freshly dried hair-sprayed hair...I don't know if you can tell from the above pictures, but there are little teeth surrounding the entire bumpit - an dI'm not talking little teeth either...these things are massive. Actually, it looks like little arrows sticking out from all sides - and they HURT when you try pulling them out. So, note to self...following directions is a good thing - and results in much less hair loss!

I've always wondered about those...but I think I'm too lazy. Ah ha ha
Looks great. I would consider one if I had the coordination past putting a headband in my hair
Just using the hairdryer is a lot for me some days!
Congratulations on 100!
That contraption has a commercial that makes it look too easy. I am guessing that it took more than 15 seconds.
I've seen the info commercial for this product and thought it looked crazy hard to use.
I know me. The combo of the teeth and my inability to coordinate hair, gadget, brush & hairspray would leave me with huge rat's nest.
I hope you find someone who can show you how to use and take another pic.
I've totally been coveting one of those (and everything else I see advertised on TV - yes I am 9 years old) and then I discovered a As Seen on TV store. I'm in big trouble!
I hate to say it, but number three? Well...did you remember the Coneheads? Sorry.
The second one looks good, though.

I think I'm going to have to try these! I really like the second one.
You are so brave!!! I love that you did an honest post on these. I have super fine thin hair that is so flat it drives me crazy. No body at all, stick straight. What I bought was Raquel Welch's clip in hair. Works like a charm, add natural hair where you want it and the little clips add enough lift at the roots so your hair doesn't look stuck to your head. I stopped wearing them once my daughter was born cause I didn't want her ripping them out but now that she is going to turn four, I just might whip them out, give them a wash and clip em in!
I'd never heard of these before! (Maybe I just live in too much isolation up here in the Great White North) You're brave to try those - they really do look like some ancient torture device. But on a side note, they make you're hair look nice, especially the second one.
CONGRATS ON 100!!!!!!! THAT IS HUGE!!!!! Just keep playing with it, thats what I have to do whenever I try and incorporate a new hair thingy. I'm truly not blessed in the thick hair department, so maybe I will try the bumpit!
too cute.. I think they look good.
Hey! Big news on 100! That's awesome. Thanks for sharing your Bump-It experince with all 100 of us!!
YEAH on the 100! Congrats!
I want the bumpits to really work for someone. I keep seeing the ads and thinking to myself, it that like the spray can of hair?
I want one too....I just thought that it might not work. But looking at you I want one!
I am so failing lately on trying to look "up to date"- but if I did blow dry my hair, and if i did attempt to make it cute.......then these would be on my wish list too! Plus, it's always fun to read about how real people like things I've seen on infomercials!!

I married into an Italian family and while I don't subscribe to hair bigger than I am tall...I could certainly give you a few tips.
Nice forehead :O)
I use to tease my hair and 'bump-it' up myself - so I cannot go back for a second time around (or so they say about trends) ;)
I've had these for quite some time. I like to use the Hollywood Bump-It with a ponytail. It's all about placement! But, they're awesome to use, and look great! Thanks for sharing!
My daughter wants to try these!! I definitely like the second pic...looks so cute!
I think I may need to buy these now :) Thanks!

I'm jealous. I would have totally pretended to blush at my gag gift just to get those for Christmas. I secretly want to try them. But, they do sound like a LOT of work - don't know if it's worth it.
I should tell you though - I think you can definitely pull off the last one! It looks FAB! (Yes...I went there.)
P.S. Congrats on 100 followers!
Congrats on 100! I hope to make it to 50 today! Love the "bump." ;0)
HA! I Love it!! I have the straightest, flatest hair and I had been eyeing those things for awhile! I have aspired to Audrey Hepburn for a loooooong time and those look like they would help.....
Haha, cool!
Those things would look weird on my hair though.
bump it, bump it , bump it up nothin can make you stop! oooo yeahhhh
congrats on 100 followers btw!!
If I had somewhere important to go I'd give these a try but...well, I don't!
Dirty Jerz ... girl, you crack me up!! I was wondering if these actually worked. I think they would be so fab for nights out!!
This cracks me up honey! I have wanted to try these bump its because I lack volume too, but think they wouldn't work on me very well! Thanks for visiting and commenting on my Marilyn post. It's so sad she had to die that way. Congrats on over 100 followers honey! We do care what you have to say! Keep up the great work! Kori xoxo

WIth the addition of me as a follower, you're now at 114! YAY!
I totally agree with the first commenter...i rarely fix my hair but these look fun!
Awesome! :)
OMG I cracked up the first time I saw the BUMPIT ... because it's such a funny concept AND because it was being sold in OFFICE MAX!!! WHY OFFICE MAX!?!?
Thanks for the comment on my blog regarding the blood drive, and if you ever feel like directing the ONE HUNDRED of your followers my way to tell them about the Blog for Blood Drive, I would be SOOO grateful! Thanks! And Happy New Year!
I want Bumpits soooo bad! My best friend let me try out her Hollywood-sized one ... and let me just say, I looked like Flo from the Geico commercials. Ridiculous. I've never tried the others, but from your pictures they look like they're much more flattering. :)
Color me jealous, honey!
I wonder if my boys could learn how to put them in my hair???
PS Did you check YouTube for instructional videos??
