Thanksgiving was fun...our little fam ate with the man's side of the family on Wednesday night. We were going to go all out - since the man was off for once - but since I
For those of you who are feeling less than ambitious around the holiday season - and have a Bob Evans somewhere around - I would highly suggest purchasing a pre-packaged holiday meal! Now, just because it was purchased somewhere, that doesn't mean that it isn't flavorful or cooked
As soon as the last family member was out the door - into the car we went with all of our luggage and the babe. Saying that we were driving down the interstate at 100 mph just doesn't give the siutation justice. My parents were awake and ready to welcome us with open arms...even though we were all dead tired and just wanted to
The man thought it would be a better idea if my parents stayed with us over Christmas - to avoid us having to go between our house and their for presents and festivities and dinner - because it really is all about us! So, our home will be filled with the man, myself and the babe in the master bedroom - my grandmother is staying in the 2nd master bedroom - my parents (minus the puppies, thank goodness) will be staying in the basement bedroom. They are arriving tonight and staying until Saturday afternoon. Oh joy!!
Since the man is back to work now, after being at home after breaking his wrist, we will have to eat an early lunch around 11a. That means that the cooking will start LONG before that - since we'll have to get a fried turkey, loin roast (not mine), green bean cassarole, garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potato cassarole, chicken stuffing, chicken AND beef gravy (yes, home made) and an apple pie done in time for that 11a deadline. Ugh!! I hope things go better in real life than they're playing out in my head.
On the upside...Macy's is open for 24 hours today...YAY for shopping!!
Wish me luck everyone!!

Good luck! I hope it's a wonderful holiday with the babe and the man.
WOW-- ok first off I am totally hungry for Fried Turkey!! Had some at Thanksgiving but your post has got my mouth watering again!!
We are staying home for Christmas this year-- but it was a hard sell to the Grand's -- but we really believe this is our time to enjoy...so Christmas eve-- we are making a gingerbread house and welcoming my parents and sisters-- then after Christmas night-- his parents...I hope that you guys have a Very Merry Christmas too!!
I decided a few years ago to start focusing on the real reason for the season, and have been a happy camper ever since. We're not even having our Christmas Feast until Sunday, 'cause the entire fam won't be here 'til then. Savor the sweet moments now...they won't hang around forever!
Good luck and merry Christmas!
I am in LOVE with your blog!! thanks for visiting mine! Good luck with all of the Christmas festivities and meals. We are just having my parents for christmas day and dinner. I bought everything yesterday and am hoping to get started on stuff tomorrow during the day. It is tiring with just four people!
Merry merry to you and yours! xoxo

You are brave sweetie! I don't know if I'd want to be anywhere near the mall today! Hope things get less stressful and more enjoyable for you. Thanks for commenting on my Merry Christmas post honey! Have a great Wednesday! Kori xoxo
You go girl, get your gravy on! I love it and can we talk about how much I love me some what my family likes to refer to as "white trash green bean casserole" One time my step mother tried to get all fancy and show my green bean casserole with some homemade version with fresh green beans and soup not out of a can, can I just say that NO ONE touched it. Yet my campbell's soup version was polished off in no time.
Thanks for your great comments. I love your site.
Talk to you soon!

I have to cook a huge British dinner on Christmas (which is really just a US Thanksgiving dinner!). But tomorrow night, we order Chinese! ;-)
Happy Holidays and I'll be working on my TT post this next week or so.

My husband broke his wrist last winter... ouch
Have a great Christmas
That made me so very tired just reading it! I would've said NO NO NONONONONONO!
In fact...this is my last blog stop and I'm off to curl into the fetal position myself and pray like mad the kiddo sleeps all night tonight!
Merry Christmas to you and happy shopping!
Thankfully, we stayed home at Christmas this year. And the best part is that no family members visited. Best. Christmas Gift. Evah.
