Lesson #82 - Sometimes TRUE Love Requires A Fashion Statement

Have you ever loved something SO much that you just HAD to make a point about it??

That is the exact thought I had when I was at the grocery store a few months back. The woman in front of me in the checkout line was with her hubs...just standing around waiting for him to finish with paying for the groceries. Suddenly he realized that his credit card wasn't in his wallet...alas!!

Anyways - the point of the story is this...wifey, clearly frustrated, went to pull her wallet out of one of THESE:

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!?! I totally freaked out when I saw her bag and just couldn't keep my damn mouth shut!! "Ohmigod!! Where did you GET your bag?!?!" This poor woman probably thought I was a psycho...but I just HAD to ask! SUPER cute, right???

I never got an answer...so I don't know if the woman in the grocery store got her bag from Rosha Merci'a...but I am going to venture to say that she did! These fabulous recycled wrapper purses and accessories are made from candy wrappers, potato chip/snack bags and ANY other food/drink wrappers you can think of!

From larger purses, like the Starbucks bag above, to smaller zipper pouches like this Coke example:

From a Mountain Dew purse to a Ramen Noodle pouch (chicken flavor, below):

M has been making wrapper purses and accessories since 2004 and I hope she continues to make them!! Want a custom piece...just come up with the wrapper(s) of your choice and I'm sure M would be thrilled to make a bag, wallet, clutch, key fob, or anything else for you!! I have yet to gather enough diaper packages for her to make me a diaper bag...but I will get there soon enough!!

Giveaway:
The first winner of this giveaway will receive a Recycled Starbucks Zipper Purse (shown above) - and the second winner will receive their choice of a Coke OR Pepsi Zipper Pouch (Coke shown above)!!

Here are the rules...please leave a separate comment for each entry:
3 entries if you "follow" me - please comment and let me know
2 entries when you visit the OhNoUDidn't Designs Etsy site and tell me which product is your favorite
2 entries if you "heart" OhNoUDidn't Designs on Etsy

Lesson #80 - Art Is About Heart

Art...we all want to create it, but few of us rarely ever succeed. That is what makes Makiko - known as Maki to her friends - so special.

When I first discovered her art, I knew that we already had a connection...she was born in Japan - like my mama! Maki uses her love of music, fashion and art to transform a plain white canvas into something that is SO much more than just paint. You can really feel the love she puts into her art when you see her paintings.

Since each design is hand-painted, you can be sure that your Barefoot Chic creation is a one-of-a-kind! Not only does Maki have designs offered on her website, but she can also paint something to match the current decor in your home. Simply take a picture of the area where the painting will hang - and maybe a few more of the items around the room - and Maki will come up with a custom piece perfect for your space.

This Japan-born, mother of two girls is quite the up-and-coming artist whose works of whimsy are sure to brighten up any room in your house!

The first winner of this giveaway will receive a custom-made painting from Maki. The second will receive a "Surfer Girl" (or Boy) painting - similar to the one above. Good luck!!

Lesson #79 - Bags Are Made To Keep Us Organized {Giveaway}

Bags...you love them - I love them...that is why I am SUPER excited that Melissa Wisen, creator of Borsa Bella Designs - agreed to sponsor a giveaway!

Melissa’s creative talent was apparent at a young age and her mother adeptly harnessed this talent by teaching her to design and sew at the age of six. A native of Richland, Washington, Melissa now resides - and has stores - in Wenatchee Valley. What began as a hobby soon turned Melissa into a bag-making Queen! Once the demand for her creations grew, she began selling her products online and doing home parties.

When not designing bags, Melissa can be found tackling many of the business functions behind Borsa Bella, or on the ice, lending her athletic ability to the Wenatchee Banshee’s ice hockey team. Melissa also dedicates volunteer hours to her son’s classroom and enjoys scrapbooking, making jewelry, quilting and cooking.

This woman is a Jack(ie) of MANY trades!!

Melissa's collection includes everything from small wristlets...
...to medium-sized hobo bags...
...even large diaper bags...
The best product that Melissa has, though, is the ORIGINAL eReader bag...
All of Melissa's bags are handmade in the US of A (can I get a who-rah?!) and are machine washable. Each of her products has an extensive description regarding size, numbers of pockets and a number of other fun facts. Good luck to all!!!

Giveaway:
The winner of this giveaway will receive a Borsa Bella credit of $25 to purchase whatever their little heart desires...and FREE shipping!!

Here are the rules...please leave a separate comment for each entry:

Lesson #72 - There Is Nothing More Beautiful Than Being A Girl {Giveaway}

When the babe was born she had a TON of platinum hair...alas...not enough to make her look like a girl though **sads**

I never wanted to put those little thin headbands on the babe - no offense, but I think they look a little silly! So you can imagine how happy I was to find a THICK elastic headband - handmade by a wonderful woman, who I found out lives not far from me...SUPER happy!! The babe is happy too~she loves her pretty headband!
Pink & Pigtails makes STYLISH and AFFORDABLE hair accessories for your "little" lady. The designer behind Pink & Pigtails prides herself on designing pieces comparable to those found in high-end boutiques while still keeping things practical in terms of cost.

Chandra specializes in designs which are not your typical motifs as it relates to hair accessories for the young. Therefore, many of the items can easily transition into other ages - making the hair-ties and headbands an even more practical purchase. In the event you can’t find the perfect item, custom creations can be discussed and made to your exact specifications.

Lesson #55 - Who Needs CAPS Lock When You've Got Vinyl {Giveaway}

The winners of the Pumpkin Sack giveaway are...

and
Comment #4 - Our Little Family

CONGRATS!!!

**********

I am an outspoken type of person - if you hadn't guessed yet - so what better way to push force express my thoughts to those who enter my home than putting those words on my walls...in the form of vinyl?!?! I mean, who WOULDN'T want 8-inch letters spelling out, "Don't Forget To Flush" in every bathroom...or "That Dish Won't Wash Itself" above the kitchen sink?!?! Ok, ok...if you're a little less sarcastic, then you could always post your little peanut's birth stats on a bedroom wall. Oh the wonderful things one can write in vinyl!!!

The best thing is that there are more color and font choices than you can shake a stick at!!

When I came across ePLUSc, which is supposed to be read as e+c (like Etc.), I was so excited that I, too, could now cover the interior (and heck, probably the exterior too) of our happy home in vinyl sayings!! Erica and Carly are sisters who are just as spunky and active as I am and I absolutely LOVE their description of themselves:

Erica is a creating, internet-surfing, sleeping, laughing, socializing, hair-cutting momma to an energetic toddler boy and darling newborn girl, and wife to a great husband.

Carly is a drawing, creating, laughing, sleeping, exercising, water-skiing, gourmet-food-cooking, race-running, stiletto-wearing momma to a sweet baby boy, and wife to an awesome husband.

Together, they are two sodapop-drinking, popcorn-eating, sunbathing, Lake Powell-loving, baby-kissing sisters who love to create.

Giveaway:
There will be 2 winners of this giveaway!! Each winner will receive a $10 credit towards the creation of a customized vinyl wall art saying.

Here are the rules...please leave a separate comment for each entry:
3 entries if you "follow" me - please comment and let me know
2 entries when you visit the ePLUSc Etsy site and tell me which color/font combination is your favorite
2 entries if you "heart" ePLUSc on Etsy
1 entry if you follow the ePLUSc blog

Lesson #49 - All Royalty Needs A Special Coat {Giveaway}

The winners of the Banjo Bay Soaps giveaway are...

Comment #25 - Keeping Up With The Schultz Family
and

CONGRATS!!!

**********

I don't know about your kiddos, but the babe likes being cuddled all warm and comfy. I was super excited when I came across Knotted Wear - creators of The Pumpkin Sack Wearable Baby Blanket™©. Knotted Wear was created to keep your kids warm, snuggly and stylish while making it easy and convenient for mom and dad.

The Pumpkin Sack Wearable Baby Blanket™© is the only baby blanket you ever need! Use it anywhere… the crib, the car seat, the stroller, around the house, while playing outside… anywhere! It was created by a mom and dad with two daughters who understand the need for durability, comfort, simplicity and of course, style.

The sack is so easy to use...which is a plus for parents, like myself, who don't have a lot of time on their hands! Simply slip baby in and secure snaps on side and over shoulders. Then, wrap the swaddle around baby’s waist with arms in or out and you are ready to go!

There are times where I have to run an errand, but don't want to disturb the babe's nap. The solution is simple ~ I just pick her up from her crib and put her in her car seat. Since there is a hole in the bottom of the sack, any bottom car seat latch can be used. Diaper changes are just as easy also! Undo the Velcro - or buttons depending on the style you choose - at the bottom of the sack, pull baby's legs out and change that diaper.

Each Pumpkin Sack™© is machine washable and fits newborn babies up to 6 to 9 months old. They measure ~14 inches wide and 27 inches long - which is the standard size shipped - unless requested otherwise. The Pumpkin Sack™© is made bigger so that your baby can grow into it and they come in the most fashionable patterns for your princess OR prince!

In addition to The Pumpkin Sack™©, Knotted Wear also offers ponchos - and other products - for your princess who has outgrown her need to be swaddled!

Giveaway:
There will be 2 winners of this giveaway!! Each winner will receive their choice of one boy or one girl Pumpkin Sack™©.

Here are the rules...please leave a separate comment for each entry:
3 entries if you "follow" me - please comment and let me know
2 entries when you visit the Knotted Wear Etsy site and tell me which product is your favorite
2 entries if you "heart" Knotted Wear on Etsy

Lesson #44 - Showering Can Be Fun {Giveaway}

The winners of my FIRST giveaway from I Got Squares is...

AND
Comment #36 - Getting all my Ducks in a Row

CONGRATS!!!

**********

I don't know about YOU, but I love to shower. Just being clean makes me happy - even though my house could use a once over from a maid with the strongest vacuum EVER! So, you can imagine how EXCITED I was when Emily - of Banjo Bay Soaps - decided to sponsor a giveaway!!

All of Em's handmade soaps contain natural goodies, essential oils, extracts, colors and LOVE. ♥ All of them contain between 65% and 80 % certified organic ingredients! Each oil and each bar has a definite purpose, a meaning, a story, a direction and a flow. (If you'd like to inquire how much certified organic product goes into each bar - she welcomes calls or emails)

All attempts are also made to add exfoliants that someone could actually consume. The list includes: organic dried cranberries, poppy seeds, organic dried pineapple, crushed peppermint, apricot, blueberry seeds, dried lemon peel...and the list continues for miles!

Unless specified as Milk Based Bar (i.e. Oat and Honey Milk is a DAIRY based bar) all other BanjoBaySoaps that do include milk are either Rice or Coconut Milk. The company is Vegan friendly. All of the soaps are superfatted with vegetarian oils - palm, coconut, olive or vegetable - which means that no animal fat oils are used to superfat the batches. All soaps do contain glycerin, a NATURALLY occurring element in the soap making process. Each batch is made one at a time and cured to ensure that all the oils and scents are settled in the soap before they are used. To get the absolute most out of a handmade soap, you want to avoid letting it sit in water, so a draining soap dish, shower rack, or knitted soap sack are some ways to keep the bar going.

The most popular "flavors" are...
Sweet Honey Oat

Vanilla Bean

Peppermint Earth

Lemongrass ZING

Synergy

Em also makes hand-crocheted soap sacks!!

Giveaway:
There will be 2 winners of this giveaway!! Each winner will receive a choice of one wonderfully scented soap bar (out of the above options) AND a hand-crocheted soap sack. It begins at 12:01a on Monday, January 11, 2010 and ends at 11:59p on Sunday, January 17, 2010.

Here are the rules...please leave a separate comment for each entry:

1 entry when you visit the Banjo Bay Soaps Etsy site and tell me which product you'd get
1 entry if you "heart" Banjo Bay Soaps on Etsy
1 entry if you become a fan of Banjo Bay Soaps on Facebook - please let me know what name it is under
